Created by artists for artists, Studio 303 supports emerging practices in contemporary dance and undisciplined performance since 1989. Serving as both an incubator and catalyst for experimental performance creation, Studio 303 offers avant-garde workshops, creative residencies, mentoring and coaching services and a flexible and intimate lab space in which innovative creations can be created and presented.

Studio 303's diverse programming prioritizes curious artists who escape definition and who challenge the status quo in their work, in terms of form and-or content. Predictably unpredictable, our programming is responsive to current creative practices and to exciting opportunities. The majority of our programming is done via calls for submission. While we do not present finished/touring work, we are able to accommodate renting independent productions on weekends.

Venue Information
Located in downtown Montreal, Studio 303 is a beautiful welcoming space, perfect for individual or group pieces. The studio measures 1,800 square feet, with a performance space of about 25' x 25', and features a sprung hardwood floor, 10 large windows, black curtains on rails, a unisex changing room without shower, lighting and sound system, video projector, 3 levels of risers and 56 to 75 seats (benches, chairs and pillows).

Studio 303's recurring events:
  • REMIX: Two original works followed by their remixes by guest choreographers. A radical sharing of material.
  • Cabaret Tollé: An evening of artful indignation and creative protest.
  • Curator-in-residence: Think, devise, express. A program conceived by a different curator-in-residence each year.
SPARK Studio Series: Free informal showings by 303-associated artists during the FTA.
